It’s too bad that communists and haters of freedom are taking the Arizona incident in the direction of a Marxist purge.
The real question is: Where does eccentricity stop and dangerous madness begin? I think most of us would agree that when a real person talks about killing real people with real weapons that he is real crazy and could use 72 hours of mental observation in the nearest facility.
The problem is: What about someone who is not going around pointing guns at people? Is there any point at which you would want to do something about someone who has not quite gotten to the point of harming someone?
Now if you are a communist like Obama, or Pelosi or Reid, then you will say anyone who does not worship the communist manifesto is crazy and ought to be silenced, and that anyone who praises the constitution is dangerous and evil. Anyone like Limbaugh, or Beck or Savage or those Tea Baggers for instance.
God I wish democrats did not hate the constitution, our freedoms and our liberties so. They long for cold comfort of a North Korean style Marxist dictatorship and the precepts of the communist manifesto.
Meanwhile, back at reality…
Certainly if a guy gets kicked out of school and told not to come back until he has had a mental evaluation a red flag should go up. I am not saying that you would necessary want the cops involved but you would certainly want his next of kin notified–his parents for instance. And we would probably want laws that support that.
Instead of nebulous warnings by the coming communist dictatorship of Chairman Obama that if we “see something we should say something” , how about something more concrete? If you have a friend who says that he is going to kill people it is your duty to tell a third-party of your choice about it as soon as possible. Whom you should notify I have no clear idea, but I do think that if some lunatic sets off a enough alarms in his inner circle, the authorities should sooner or later get wind of it.
We would not want FBI or local police stepping in every time neighbor X gets angry about neighbor Y and begins to spread lies about him. But if the people who you actually say you like and spend time with, are the same people saying that they are worried about your violent thoughts, deeds or actions, that’s when the authorities might like to pay a visit and see if you know what planet you are on and whether or not you believe you control your own mind.
So there needs to be some kind of hierarchy. Violent threats, deeds or actions + you bought or have a gun= Tell somebody something. Suicidal thoughts, deeds or actions + goodbye actions or final actions = Tell somebody something.
Some jerk doesn’t like government= yawn.
Unless you are a communist and have no God but government. Then by all means do what communists do: destroy freedom and liberty. Trash the constitution. Suspend the free speech rights of everyone who disagrees with you. As all good communists know:
disagreeing with you = hate speech.
