Cyber Sabotage

Stuxnet is a sophisticated virus built for industrial sabotage.   The virus targets industrial complexes like that oil well that sprang a leak in the Gulf of Mexico, the Deepwater Horizon or a nuclear power plant.

One is never sure whether those who rule Iran can give the time of day with a straight face, nevertheless, rumor has it that the Iranian nuclear bomb making facility, whoops, I mean their peaceful nuclear power plants have been taken offline by this complex virus.

The only person saddened by the delay in Iran getting their nuclear projects online outside of Iran might be 9/11 Truther Alex Jones.  The same Alex Jones who thinks George Bush attacked the United States on 9/11.  The same George Bush who failed to mount a successful attack on a bowl of pretzels.

But I digress.  There is a theory which says that the more centralized our technology becomes, the more susceptible we become to what is known as a single point failure.  An example of a single point failure would be if you could take out a single power plant and our whole electrical grid went down.  All the more modern equivalent might be if you took out a single computer and the whole system went down.

A virus like Stuxnet that targets technology may one day bring down an entire nation.  Especially if Obama, who major in the Soviet School of Centralized Planning, gets his way and Washington DC begins to decide everything down to what brand of toilet paper we may ecologically use and how many rolls we may have to keep the redistribution of goods and money fair for subsistence farmers in Outer Mongolia.

Well in emulating the central planning of the Soviet Union in health care, economics and energy, at least we are copying a successful model, right?
